Job Description

Report to General Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for establishing and directing the marketing and sales activities of an organization including advertising and public relations.
• Develops sales and marketing plan and budget to reflect the company’s and the hotel’s goals and objectives in maximizing revenue generation and profitability.
• Provides leadership in the areas of Sales and Marketing and works closely with other division heads-directing, managing and coordinating an efficient and effective sale and marketing plan for the hotel.
• Creates and oversees the implementation of special programs following the business plan to ensure marketing objectives are achieved through:
• Increasing average rate
• Increasing overall occupancy
• Enhancing the image of the hotel in the local community
• Directs and overseas the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services.
• Researches and develops strategies and plan which identify marketing opportunities and recommends the General Manager of the way to increase high yield business volumes.
• Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results.
• Supervises the planning and development of the hotel marketing and communication materials.
• Works closely with Corporate Sales in managing and supervising the sales department.
• Maintains and upgrades communication networks to ensure that the hotel has a competitive advantage in information and sales leads.
• Organizes and promotes, in cooperation with the Food & Beverage Department, special projects to stimulate Food and Beverage Sales with the community
• Furnishes monthly sales & marketing report on a timely basis to the general manager and corporate office.
• Appraises performance of Sales & Marketing personnel in managerial level periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiates appropriate corrective measures to improve deficiencies.
• Manages the department to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
• Ensure each staff is a good sales person to promote hotel’s image and businesses at all times.
• Coaches and counsels all staff especially the department and unit manages when applicable.
• Provides and supports the most effective training to all staff regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the general manager.

REPORT LINE & COMMUNICATION

• Reports to General Manager and if applicable works closely with designated Corporate Office.
• Coordinates functions and activities with other departments in relation to the Sales and Marketing affairs. Liaises with concerned departments to ensure that operations deliver the best quality product and service to our clients

• Continuous learning through own IDP.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management or relevant discipline
• Minimum of 5 years sales experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a 5 star class environment
• Have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
• Be self-motivated, result-oriented, resourceful and possesses leadership qualities
• Possesses professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
